The château de la Berchère is a window into the history of France.
It was originally built as a fort for protection from medieval invasions. Then, in the XVIth and XVIIth centuries, it had been bought over and was sumptuously decorated following the influence of the Dukes of Bourgogne.
In the late XVIIIth century, it was sold as National Property after the Revolution.
It also witnessed an episode in the battle of 1870, and was occupied during the Second World War.
In the lastest chapter, in the 1980's, J-C MASSART started renovating the château and transforming it into a hotel.
