Domaine de la Tortinière, built in 1861, has a most impressive exterior, an inviting interior, and charming hosts in Madame Olivereau-Capron and her son Xavier. Xavier explained that his mother did not want a hotel with a stiff, formal atmosphere, but rather the feeling of a home with a blend of contemporary and traditional decor with modern and antique furniture. In the drawing room old paneling painted in soft yellows combines with modern sofas and tables and traditional chairs to create a very comfortable room. Bedrooms continue in the same vein with a pleasing blend of traditional and contemporary, and are found in the main château, the adjacent pavilion, and a little cottage by the entrance to the property.
Rooms are shared between the Château (11) and our cottages (18) which are all older than the Château itself and in which rooms have exactly the same charm and comfort. It is the size and the view (on the river or not) which make the difference in price. The Château turrets contain 4 suites and 3 split-level apartments are located in the "Vieux Logis" Pavilion.
Prices availablE upon request. Within this enchanted environment, you can dive into the heated swimming-pool, play tennis, jog in the 30 acres park, fish or go boating on the Indre river.
You will enjoy the magnificent view over the Indre River from the Orangerie and its terrace, and the privacy of the individual dining-room where a sophisticated cuisine will be served by the members of the staff who will do their utmost to make your stay an unforgettable experience. |
